Transportation Support

Transportation support is vital for individuals and families facing medical challenges to access essential services and appointments. Our website offers information and resources to assist with transportation needs. Whether you require access to public transportation options, specialized paratransit services for individuals with disabilities, or volunteer driver programs, we're here to help you find transportation solutions that meet your needs. Navigating medical appointments and other essential errands can be daunting, but we're committed to ensuring that transportation barriers don't stand in the way of accessing the care and support you need.

NCTD provides LIFT paratransit service to eligible individuals with disabilities who cannot board, ride, or navigate accessible fixed-route bus or train service because of their disabilities. Eligible individuals are those whose disabilities prevent them from using a NCTD lift-equipped bus or an accessible rail system. Eligibility certification for LIFT paratransit service consists of a completed application and a health care provider form

NCTD offers reduced fares and passes for:

  • Senior citizens (65+ or born on or before September 1, 1959)

  • Medicare Recipients (not MediCal)

  • People with disabilities who qualify for a reduced fare under federal and state law

  • Youth ages 6-18 (school ID, transit identification, or government-issues photo ID required): The Youth Opportunity Pass pilot program offers free transit for Youth with a PRONTO app account or card, through June 30, 2024. Learn More.
